We are the oldest travel company in Ladakh, established in 1975. Spending years travelling and accumulating experience & knowledge about this unique mountainous region, we’re excited to share what we’ve found and show you one of the most beautiful parts of the world.

Founder

Dilli Rigzin
Mr. Rigzin, the first Ladakhi to serve in the Indian Navy, was one of the most respected and influential figures in the town. Shaped by the discipline, integrity, and leadership of his naval service, and guided by a deep love for Ladakh, he went on to make lasting contributions to his community.

In 1975 just one year after Ladakh was opened to tourism, he founded Dragon Tour & Travel, which today stands as the oldest travel agency still in continuous operation in the region. At a time when tourism in Ladakh was still in its infancy, Dilli played a pioneering role in laying the foundations of the local travel industry.

Over the years, he mentored and guided numerous individuals who later established their own successful ventures in the travel sector. Through his vision, ethics, and generosity of knowledge, he helped shape the Ladakh tourism ecosystem into what it is today.

Beyond his professional achievements, he was deeply respected by the community for his honesty, leadership, and lifelong commitment to uplifting others. His legacy continues to live on through the people he mentored and the enduring presence of Dragon Tour & Travel in Ladakh.

Stanzin Nurboo
As a third-generation travel agent, Mr. Nurboo carries forward a rich family tradition in the tourism industry. He pursued his studies in management in the UK, where he gained a strong foundation in business operations, which he now applies to his work in the travel sector. With expertise in logistics, planning, and crafting custom itineraries, Stanzin ensures that every journey is tailored to meet the unique needs of each traveller. His deep connection to Himalayan mountains, combined with his professional experience, allows him to offer seamless, unforgettable cultural and trekking experiences that highlight the region’s stunning landscapes and vibrant heritage.

Stanzin’s extensive network of local contacts — spanning guides, service providers, hospitality providers, and community leaders — enables him to offer clients truly authentic, personalised adventures.

Sonam Angmo
With over 11 years of experience as a guide in Ladakh, Mrs. Angmo has a deep understanding of the region’s trails, culture, and logistics. Now working at Dragon Tours, she leverages her extensive field experience to organise and manage trekking and cultural tours. Mrs. Angmo is responsible for planning & coordinating logistics, and ensuring seamless travel experiences for clients. Her hands-on expertise in Ladakh makes her an invaluable asset in creating authentic, well-organised trips that highlight both adventure and cultural immersion.

Tashi Spalzang
Mr. Tashi is an expert in on-ground logistics with extensive experience of over 19 years in managing the equipment and supplies needed for our tours. He ensures that every trip is fully equipped with the right gear and safety equipment, tailored to the specific needs of each journey. With his deep knowledge of tour dynamics, Mr. Tashi is responsible for coordinating all operational aspects on the ground, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. His attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and expertise in logistics make him a key figure in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and successful experience for all clients.
